Project #5

K'NEX Building Levers
CORE CONCEPTS USING K'NEX
-
A lever is a simple machine.
-
Levers make work easier by reducing the amount of force needed to do a job.
-
A lever has three parts: a load (the work we want to do), a fulcrum (balance/pivot point for the lever), and effort (the force we use).
Circuit Maze
CORE CONCEPTS FOR CIRCUIT MAZE:
-
Short Circuit- An electrical circuit that allows current too much current to flow which can be dangerous to the parts or people using the circuit.
-
Closed/Complete Circuit- A circuit without interruption that allows current to flow on a continuous path.
-
Open/Broken Circuit- A circuit in which the continuity is broken so that the current does not flow.

K'NEX LEVERS
POP students are presented with a challenge to learn how simple machines work by building levers with K’nex.
What do seesaws, wheelbarrows, and scissors have in common? They are all simple machines that use levers to make work easier.
