Getting To Know Your Ozobot
Robotics and Control Technology
Ozobot moves and changes color. It also responds to codes that control these and other functions.
Its controller has been programmed to read color codes, but you can also write your own programs for Ozobot.
The Engineering Process With Ozobots
Engineers solve problems.
First, they write technical requirements to define what a solution must be able to do. Then, they write design specifications to identify how their solution should solve the problem.

Next, they do research, design a solution, build it, and document the instructions so they could build it again later.

This is all part of the Engineering Design Process (EDP).

The Engineering Design Process is a method engineers use to develop solutions to problems.

A Challenge For Your Ozobot
Challenge a POP SmartLab team to create YOUR maze.

Design a maze that Ozobot can follow. Then, write clear, detailed instructions so another team can recreate your design.

This activity uses markers and paper or an iPad.

Students know they did a good job writing their instructions if the other team can make a very close copy of their maze without looking at the drawing.
